Cities Touting Loop 101 Technology Corridor

The Arizona Republic reports that Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler and Arizona State University Research Park are jointly marketing what they call a new tech hub, the 101 Science & Technology Corridor, which stretches from the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale to Intel's Ocotillo campus in South Chandler. Its combined assets include hundreds of tech, research and manufacturing companies, 10 educational institutions and an average household income of $75,000. The cities want the corridor to become nationally known, like Research Triangle Park in North Carolina or Route 128 in Massachusetts. The three cities are marketing the newly christened hub for the first time at the Biotechnology Industry Organization 2005 convention in Philadelphia.
